In 2022, a new GT Sport trim will join the 5008 mid-size SUV lineup.

Peugeot Australia updated its passenger car lineup for model year 22, with all existing options priced higher and the 5008 midsize SUV adding a new GT Sport class.

The French brand said the price adjustment was driven by rising production costs, with MSRP for the 508 midsize car, 2008 small SUV and 3008 and 5008 midsize SUVs up four to five percent. Let's break down the changes by model.

Peugeot 5008

The front-wheel-only seven-seater 5008 will see the biggest change for model year 22: the GT class is no longer available with a 121kW/240Nm 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine. Instead, the only option was a 131kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbodiesel ($62,990, +$3000).

However, a turbo-petrol engine powers the new GT Sport variant ($61,940), which stands out from the crowd with black exterior trim, 19-inch Washington diamond-cut Black Mist alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, eight-speed by force. -adjustable front seats with heating and massage for the driver, Nappa leather upholstery.

Peugeot 3008

The five-seater 3008 has three classes: The entry-level Allure is available with a 121kW/240Nm 1.6-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive ($47,240, +$2250). The mid-range GT has the same unit ($50,390, +$2400) or a 131kW/400Nm 2.0-litre FWD turbodiesel ($53,540, +$2550).

Now equipped with a standard panoramic sunroof, the flagship GT Sport comes with a turbo-petrol option ($59,840, +$4850), but the all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid is new for 2022.

The latter, due in March, combines a 147kW turbo-petrol version with 81kW front electric motors and 83kW rear electric motors for a total of 222kW. The battery with a capacity of 13.2 kWh can travel 60 km without recharging.

Peugeot 2008

Only the 2008 FWD still has three options, but the entry-level Allure is now $36,740 (+ $1700) and the mid-range GT and flagship GT Sport have gone up to $40,940 (+ $1950) and $48,290 (+ $4300) ).

The latter's significant jump is partly due to the addition of a panoramic sunroof as standard. All versions are powered by a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine, with the Allure and GT delivering 96kW/230Nm and the GT Sport delivering 114kW/240Nm.

Peugeot 508

The 508 is still available in one flagship class, dubbed the GT, but the Fastback bodywork now costs $2350 more, $59,840 plus travel expenses, while its Sportswagon counterpart costs $2450 to $61,940. Please note that both variants are equipped with a 165-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with 300 kW/1.6 Nm.

The 133kW version of this unit is part of the Plug-in Hybrid Fastback drivetrain. It is expected to add an 81kW electric motor in March for a total of 165kW. It is also equipped with an 11.8 kWh battery that provides 55 km of driving on electricity alone. All options are front wheel drive.
