What threatens washing the car at your own dacha

In the course of a survey conducted among its readers by the AvtoVzglyad portal, it turned out that the tradition of washing your car near your own suburban one is still strong among the people.

The beginning (albeit unexpectedly frosty) of the Russian season of trips to the dacha opened the new season of the old international fun of car owners - self-washing and caring for the body of a personal car. In this regard, the AvtoVzglyad portal organized and conducted a survey among its readers. During it, we asked them how citizens prefer to wash their cars: using the services of a car wash, or with their own hands?

As a result, it turned out that only 32% of our readers fix their car at the car wash. The majority - 68% - reported that they prefer to keep the body of their own vehicle clean exclusively on their own. Meanwhile, shower procedures for a car in the country may not be such a harmless event as it might seem at first glance. The fact is that both federal and local legislation have nothing against just washing a car on the car owner's private territory. For example, in a garage or on a personal plot. But only on condition that water contaminated with oil products and chemicals does not flow out of the site and into the soil. And although in practice no one monitors the penetration of these waters into the soil, such undertakings still do not end well. If you want to eat strawberries and radishes stuffed with auto chemicals from your backyard, it's up to you.

But because of washing the car, for example, on the street in front of the cottage gates, there may already be problems. Federal legislation does not contain direct prohibitions and penalties in this area. This area of law is almost entirely at the mercy of regional legislators. Through their efforts, not in all, of course, but quite a few subjects of the federation have fines for washing cars outside the established places. “Prices” for washing vehicles in public areas vary from region to region, but nowhere more than 5000 rubles a fine is currently provided. In some situations, washing your car can also conflict with federal laws. For example, when a person decides to wash a car in the water protection zone of some reservoir. This is especially true for citizens who have built their huts on the very shore of a river or lake. In this case, washing a car at the gates of your own hacienda threatens (at least in theory) with two articles of the federal Administrative Code at once.

Firstly, for violation of the requirements for the protection of water bodies, which may lead to their pollution, clogging and (or) depletion, any police officer can draw up a report on the car owner under Art. 8.13 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, followed by a fine of 1500-2000 rubles. And secondly, under Article 8.42 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, a fine for citizens in the amount of 3000-4500 rubles is imposed for violation of the special regime of economic and other activities on the coastal protective strip of the reservoir.
