But the history of HHR (Heritage High Roof) begins differently. Chevrolet first installed "interior" frames: they wanted to design the car with high seats to make it easier to get in and out, and the interior had to accommodate five passengers and their luggage. not too large external dimensions. This thinking is probably read quite European.

Once they had an interior, a body had to be built around it. However, in an increasingly trendy retro trend (presumably), someone remembered (in the US) the iconic Suburban. However, HHR is not so far away, you can only feel the influence of modern economic, technical and, as a result, environmental elements.

HHR is not a car that can be bought with a meter, literally and figuratively. The typical buyer is not interested in technology. First he is interested in the phenomenon and then in the phenomenon. HHR is the car that passers-by turn to. Whether you like it or not, it doesn't matter, HHR turns his head. Wow. Bold retro look. Most of the front, just a little less shadow on the side and a little less on the back. It has a huge amount of detail, from the hood to the round taillights.

Good thing the interior is not as retro as it could be. In fact, only the overall unit is somewhat reminiscent of the past, everything else is modern - from the dashboard and seats (folding passenger backrest) to the flexibility and size of the trunk. This is a well; driver and passengers enjoy a well-balanced space, state-of-the-art technology (down to the MP3 player slot), perfect ergonomics and completely redesigned controls. But this is also bad; The (again typical) buyer will almost certainly expect even more nostalgia at the door. But that's how they decided across the pond.

Almost such an HHR, with the exception of homologation requirements, has been on sale in the USA for two years. For Europe they have only "cut down" the offer - only the more powerful of the two (gasoline) engines and a stiffer chassis that is more suitable for our roads are available. The customer still has the choice of manual (5) or automatic (4) transmission, and there is only one set of equipment. In short: the supply under the model is modest.

The good side of this is that the engine, which is architecturally closely related to the modern Opel Ecoteca (2 liter) in the Astra and Vectra, is a body part - for a smooth ride or for a slightly sportier driving - and that it is very similar to the Astra as well. platform of this special. There are no special additional requirements, except for the exceptional demand for turbodiesels on our continent.

American (!) Chevrolet seems to have seriously decided to enter European markets. To enter these markets, he had to choose one of the models, and it seems that they chose the HHR because of the recognition of this model or because they want to create an image of their own manufacturer of recognizable cars. Sales in Europe are scheduled to start early next year, as well as Slovenia.

When deciding to buy a car, buyers always have certain requirements. Experience shows that most buyers are attracted by good space tech packaging packed in a not-so-outstanding body. Fortunately, there are always people who are betting on being different and recognizable. For them, the offer is more modest, but thanks to this, Chevrolet is interesting.
