Yamaha FSZ 1000 Fazer

This is how Fazer's FZS1000 was created. The name can be misleading. Before handing the bike over to us, they went to great lengths to say that the Fazer 1000 is a “demanding, high performance and quality product”. In short, do not save. They didn't travel in economy class. It also means that the price is higher than people expected.

They have made great progress. Slightly sharpened the R1 engine. It has smaller 37mm carburetors, a different exhaust system with a steel tank (on the R1 it's titanium), and retained the Ex-Up valve. Engine power reduced from 150 to 143 hp at 10.000 rpm. It's probably crankshaft data.

Like the FZR 600, this bike also has a double steel tubular frame with tubes screwed on from the bottom to facilitate the mechanics' work. The wheelbase is 1450mm, 55mm more than the R1. Weighing 208 kg, it is also 33 kg heavier than the R1, but weighs only 19 kg more than the lightweight FZS 600.

I can say that the new motorcycle has retained all the virtues of both ancestors. After the first few miles, I was disappointed because I expected a sharper bike. I got the impression that I am somewhere long, too soft, not lively and aggressive enough to knock in corners. Well, I was only expecting an R1 with a tall handlebar and half armor. But this is Fazer.

After catching my head and expectations, big Fazer and I had a great time. It has the comfort and politeness you would expect from your day to day life. The engine jerks at medium revs, which is a pleasure when you need to overtake a convoy of trucks. When the neck gets tired, it reaches about 240 km per hour.
