Chevrolet Announces Opening Bookings for New Electric Silverado

The day has come and Chevrolet is ready to unveil the new electric Silverado almost January 5th at CES in Las Vegas. However, another good news is that the booking will open after the official presentation of the electric car.

General Motors could have held this week in Las Vegas, but the launch will still take place virtually on Wednesday, January 5th. The Silverado EV will be the next electric truck GM develops, after it and its SUV version, and it will use the same Ultium platform that the Hummers are built on.

Booking available this Wednesday, January 5th

If you're interested in the new Silverado EV, you'll be happy to know you can queue up from tomorrow as bookings open an hour after debut.

The presentation will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 5 at 24:00 ET, with online booking opening shortly after 1:00 AM ET.

Silverado EV Features Disclosure

In April, GM announced the Silverado electric car with a claimed range of 400 miles. In October, during a series of GM announcements about electric vehicles, a few more details were revealed, including that it will feature a previously unmentioned glass roof. These are not the most revealing details, but they are a few things.

New platform Ultium

Ultium is GM's premium electric vehicle platform, so theoretically none of the trucks it's introduced will be fire hazards like the Chevy Bolt, a scandal so big that GM lost its lead over Ford, not to mention all the recalls and lost sales in the world.

With that in mind, this is a real opportunity for GM to test how much people will prefer the Silverado EV F-150 Lightning, which Ford recently announced will increase production capacity and resume bookings on January 6 due to overwhelming demand.
