The Volt will be the first electric vehicle to be used by the NYPD. electric scooters. Thus, environmentally friendly Chevrolet will replenish the city's fleet of 430 "green" cars. “This is the largest fleet of its kind in the country,” admits New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “Our job is to present the facts about electric vehicles to the public, offer the right choice in this regard and put into operation the necessary infrastructure,” he adds.

The Volt has a total range of over 600 km. The first 60 km of the Volta can be driven without consuming petrol or emitting pollutants, while making full use of the energy stored in the 16 kWh lithium-ion battery. When the battery is discharged, the gasoline engine-generator is automatically started, increasing the range by another 550 kilometers with a full tank of fuel.
European buyers will be able to experience the Volt in 2011. I wonder if our law enforcement officers will also like the car.
