What is ALS?

What is ALS?BAS (Brake Assistant System) is a brake assist system that assists in situations where the driver does not press the brake pedal hard enough when hard braking is required.

Under the brake pedal are brake assist sensors that are able to detect such a situation. The BAS control unit then issues a command to increase the pressure in the hydraulic brake system to the maximum. These sensors determine the speed and force of the pedal. The combination - the product of these values - is the controlled limit for activating the BAS assistant. This limit is precisely set and verified to prevent unwanted activation of the helper. Assistant activity and therefore max. The braking effect is maintained throughout the entire braking period until the pedal is released, when the system automatically disengages. Brake Assist makes full use of the effect of the brake booster as well as ABS. The validity of the BAS system was also confirmed by practical tests, when the braking distance was reduced by 15-20%.
