The operation of the GPS tracker is carried out thanks to the presence of a SIM card. Information about the coordinates of an object is determined using navigation satellites and transmitted via GSM/GPRS/GPS/3G channels to data processing servers. At each individual moment in time, packet data transmission occurs, displaying the position of the car in space.

This information can be accessed via SMS messages. However, SMS is used extremely rarely due to their high cost, although a function is provided for sending text messages in special cases, for example, if the object has left a certain region or if an accident has occurred. For the latter case, the SOS key is provided.

Usually, movement control is carried out with the help of electronic maps, which display the movement of the car. Data is transmitted via GPRS or 3G, since the use of such channels is cheaper than GSM. To correctly display the movements, you just have to install software on your computer that will decrypt the data coming from the tracker.

The GPS tracker can be used as a one-way phone, that is, you can call only one number associated with the SIM card. Also, the available microphone and speaker allow you to use the tracker to listen to what is happening in the cabin.

Typically, GPS trackers are used to control the fleet in companies, since they can be used to fully track all the movements of vehicles on the route and thus assess how honestly drivers report on fuel consumption and vehicle use.

Although the use of this device is not limited to transport alone. You can control the movement of children, elderly relatives, attach trackers to the collars of expensive dog breeds. Naturally, this invention also came to the military industry, where data on the movement of the enemy is always very much appreciated.
