What screwdriver?

The square shank screw is designed to be tightened with a square screwdriver bit. Make sure you select the correct bit size for your screw.

For more information, see the section: How to choose the right screwdriver bit.

Disadvantages of a no deposit bonus

  • Assuming you use the correct size, the square drive screw will fit snugly against the end of the square bit of the screwdriver and stay there until you pull it out. This means that you don't have to press the screw against the bit while driving.

  • Compared to a slotted design, the square shape allows the driver bit to sit more securely in the screw drive, meaning it is less likely to slip out and damage the screw or work surface.

  • Since the bit of the square driver must fit exactly into the square drive, even a slightly worn bit will have a hard time turning the screw. As a result, using square drive screws can be costly if you have to keep changing bits.
