What is a pipe vise?

	A pipe vise is a plumbing tool used to hold a pipe or pipe securely so that it can be cut or threaded. A pipe vise is also useful for pipe welding.
	In a manufacturing environment, the pipe vise is an important tool for assembling piping components.

Throughput
	The capacity of a pipe vise is the largest pipe the tool can hold. Most vices can hold pipes with a diameter of 3 mm or more (1/8“) in diameter, but the ranges of pipe sizes that can be held can vary considerably. Some can only be used to hold 50 mm (2 in.) pipe, while others can only hold pipes up to 200 mm (8 in.). ) in diameter.
