Ciatim-201. What is it used for?
Composition and Properties
TsIATIM-201 grease was developed and produced in accordance with the technical requirements of GOST 6267-74. It is based on petroleum oils treated with lithium soaps and contains the necessary antioxidant additives. As well as similar products from the same line (as an example, we can cite a more modern analogue - grease CIATIM-221) has a characteristic light brown color.
Performance characteristics:
- Dynamic viscosity, Pa s, no more than 1100.
- Shear tensile strength of the lubricating layer, Pa, not less than 250.
- Permissible strain drop, s-1, no more than 10.

Water and mechanical impurities in the final product must be absent. At critically elevated temperatures, natural evaporation of the lubricant is allowed, in an amount not exceeding 25% of the initial volume. The penetration of the lubricant into the surfaces in contact with it is not limited.
The toxicity of the lubricant according to GOST 6267-74 is low, so its use is not accompanied by rules for compliance with increased safety requirements.
What is it used for?
The main purpose of CIATIM-201 is the effective separation of lightly loaded friction surfaces of mechanical units of machines and equipment that do not function in conditions of high humidity and high shear forces. Operating temperature range - from -50°From to 90°C. Lubricant is fire resistant.
A feature of the lubricant is its increased tendency to absorb moisture, which is why the use of the composition in automotive equipment and other devices operating outdoors is limited. For the same reason, CIATIM-201 should not be used as a conservation material to increase the shelf life of parts and assemblies. The reason for such recommendations is the drying of the lubricant over time, as a result of which it loses its anti-friction performance. In the presence of dust and dirt particles in the air, they are actively introduced into the lubricating layer formed by CIATIM-201, contributing to an increase in the abrasive ability.
As a short-term means of preserving equipment, using such a lubricant is acceptable and beneficial, since the price of the product is low.

CIATIM-201 grease is packed in steel cans, buckets and plastic tubes. When purchasing, it is worth requiring the sellers to have a certificate of quality and passports of conformity.
