The Citroën C2 is already one of them. Still quite fresh, a pretty exterior that is something special and brings out the car's youthful character. Does it have a diesel engine? In any case, do not even think that the 1-liter HDi diesel engine rumbles or otherwise makes life difficult for the driver or passengers. Vice versa.

We only realized that the C2 was powered by a diesel engine when we heard it idling. It is only slightly louder than gasoline of the same volume, it is released only by it, without coughing, restless running or disturbing vibrations.

The second time we realized that the car runs on diesel fuel, it was at a gas station, where we stopped very rarely. If you don't like to often grease your hands and visiting gas stations is not the most pleasant experience, this C2 1.4 HDi is just for you. Given that it has a 41 liter fuel tank, the distance from one stop to another is quite long.

In our test, we drove about 600 kilometers, which means that the C2 boasts moderate fuel consumption. We measured its consumption of 5 liters per 5 kilometers, and we drove through the city in a crowd, and also a little faster on the highway.

The car proved to be lively and maneuverable, but at the same time there were no problems due to the short wheelbase, since it is quite comfortable both with a quiet ride and with a slightly more lively steering wheel. The only offense was part of our fault.

When starting a little less carefully, it sometimes happened that the engine stalled (a fairly typical phenomenon for modern turbodiesel engines). On the other hand, we were pleasantly surprised by the gearbox, which runs smoothly and also gives a good shift lever feel.

So if you know why such a machine would come in handy, we don't know the reasons against it. Having two seats in the back is part of the youthful image that the C2 definitely has. But don't let that fool you. Despite the small size, the trunk is comfortable thanks to the flexibility of the rear pair of seats.

And if we add SX equipment where comfort (seat upholstery, radio with lever on the steering wheel, remote central locking, power windows, ...) and safety (ABS, 4 airbags, ..) stand out, there is no reason why not a small splash screen fell in love.
