Corvette is a hallmark of Chevrolet

Not every brand can boast of absolutely top models in its offer. Why? Because usually the production of such cars is unprofitable. They are sold in small quantities and you need to find someone who will pay a lot for them. In addition, spending on research in the development of technologies could plug a hole in our budget, and the competition is not small and will go to any lengths to kill everyone around. Therefore, few manufacturers are pushing into this area of the market, because there are usually no suitable opportunities and guarantees that this huge expense will pay off. But Chevrolet took a chance a long time ago, so today there is a real legend in its assortment.

Corvette - this legendary model is hard not to know. It looks like the work of Zeus and its history goes back to 1953. It was then that he made his debut as a two-seater roadster and surprised the world with an interesting solution. The car had a frame on which a plastic body was placed. To make it more interesting - this concept did not change over the next several decades!

Initially, the Corvette had an engine capacity of less than 3.9 liters. Fans of American engines will probably be sad, because the motorcycle was not a V-eight - not only did it have 6 cylinders, but also their layout was in-line. But he was perfectly balanced. Force? 150KM… Today it may be funny, but then people were really afraid to get into such a “strong” car for fear that they would wake up at the foot of St. Petersburg. Peter. One way or another, an almost 200-strong version later appeared. However, Chevrolet was quick to respond and introduced the facelifted 1-litre V8 engine of the C4.6 generation. It reached a maximum of 315 km, so it's not hard to imagine that such parameters, combined with a lightweight plastic body, made this car almost fly. Chevrolet knew it could make the Corvette a supersport car, so it went even further with a 5.4L, 360bhp unit. This is a real chasm from 150HP in the first generation. However, C1 was already 10 years old, and although she was beautiful, people got a little fed up with it. The designers took a risk and created the C2 - completely different from its predecessor.

The new Corvette has, of course, been technically improved. Reduced frame weight, modified suspension and engines. However, the appearance of the car has revolutionized. If the generation C1 at first glance seemed like a quiet car for walking along the embankments, then the C2 left no doubt that all cars within a radius of 50 km were slower than it. Keynote address? Shark... The designers even took care of such details as the characteristic "nose", the gills at the door and the conical tail-like rear part. What is society saying? This car was thrown at him! So much so that the C2 generation is one of the most sought after Corvettes on the market today. From 365 km, which was later increased to 435 km, this car was the dream of every teenager. But there was a sad period in the career of this machine.

The new generation C3 of 1968 had to deal with the new rules. Stylistically, he continued the shark design of his predecessor, and placed a 350 hp engine under the hood. However, he did not stay under it for a long time. Why? Since the government passed the Clean Air Act in 1970, car manufacturers have had to do something to make their cars more environmentally friendly. And they did it - they ended the race for power. Chevrolet in the mighty Corvette in the late 70s used a motor not much more powerful than a washing machine - 180KM compared to 435 - a big difference ... In such a banal way, the new Corvette has become a much calmer car in relation to the older generation - and for more than 20 years!

The C4 entered the market in 1984. Of course, he initially continued the environmental direction, his engine was 200-250 hp. In turn, the appearance of the car has completely changed. The body took the form that most today associate with this model - a slender body with a panoramic rear window. But was the Corvette still a super sports car with relatively little power? Each of them had their own approach, but doubts disappeared when the ZR1 version finally entered the market with an engine power up to 405 km in top versions. The car is up and running again!

The next generations only developed the idea that was started in the 50s. The C5 is leaner and the C6 still outperforms some Ferrari models. Squeeze more power out of a small economical motor? No, it will no longer be a Corvette - the ZR1 version with 6.2 liters reaches 647 km! This car is an icon that emphasizes the individuality of its owner. Of course, quite wealthy - after all, this is a top-class car. However, Chevrolet also made sure that ordinary people could emphasize their individuality. He contributed to the production of his mass models in the same way as to the development of the automotive legend that he proposes. It is enough to look even at a compact car, which usually bothers. But not in a Chevrolet.

Cruze belongs to the C segment. It was originally a sedan, but now you can buy a hatchback - something for everyone. View? Well, this car has its own style. Clean lines, a large split grille and slanted headlights make it unmistakable from any other car. The interior is the same - there is nothing of the conservative style of the VW Golf, which was modeled after the automotive world not so long ago. Everything is modern and based on the style of sports cars. In addition, the Cruze is one of the most spacious models in its class, which is why most of them will suit the amount of space.

Compacts even have to be multipurpose, which is why different powertrains are placed under the hood of Cruises. Fans of gasoline engines will be interested in 1.6 liter engines with 124 hp. or 1.8 l with a capacity of 141 hp. Of course, there was also a diesel engine - this one is the most powerful and squeezes 2.0 km with 163 hp. All units comply with the EURO 5 emission standard - without it, the Cruze would not be in showrooms.

Yes, the Corvette is a unique car, but it's a top-of-the-line offering and few will stand out on the road that way. The rest of the individualists can safely shine, sitting on the Cruz. Genuine compact cars are hard to buy these days, and Chevrolet has managed to perfectly combine the two most important features - practicality and style. In the Corvette, too - the trunk is definitely enough.
