Driving for a long time lowers… IQ • ELECTRIC CARS
A scientist from the University of Leicester examined the mental abilities of British drivers. It turned out that spending more than 2 hours behind the wheel a day reduces the IQ.
People in the age range from 37 to 73, women and men, were surveyed.
Those who drove 2-3 hours a day were cognitively weaker at the beginning of the study. Over the five years, their IQ fell more than those who drove less than 2 hours a day or did not ride at all during that period.

The scientist summed up the study in a very surprising way: riding lowers our mental abilities because the brain is probably less active when driving.

This thesis is a contradiction of the information preached to all and the news that driving a car requires extraordinary concentration and intense mental work. Driving seems to be quickly becoming a reflex activity that doesn't involve much of the mind.
