Phase sensor on VAZ 2114: about errors and replacement
Content
A few months ago, the following problem arose on my 2114: when the ignition was turned on and the engine was started, after a few seconds, the “check” injector lamp on the instrument panel began to light up. At first I thought that this was a temporary problem and this was due to the quality of gasoline, but after re-refueling, the problem did not disappear and the check still lit up in almost every case after starting the engine.
Diagnostics of the malfunction of the phase sensor (camshaft position) on the VAZ 2114
The surest way to determine which sensor from the ECM system has failed is to install an on-board computer, such as the State, which, in the event of an engine error, immediately reports on the rey and decrypts it.
I did the same, I thought about buying for a long time, but after this problem I decided not to postpone and immediately install it. As a result, after connecting the BC State, the display showed me error 0343 - a high signal level of the phase sensor. When I turned it off, I did not see any changes in the operation of the engine, and the “injector” light continued to burn. In the end, it was decided that it needed to be changed.
Replacing the phase sensor (camshaft position) on the VAZ 2114
So, the price of a phase sensor for the 14th model is about 270 rubles, so there will be no special costs. Replacing it is also quite simple. To do this, you need a 10 head with a ratchet handle:
First you need to open the hood of the car and on the right side, where it is marked with an arrow in the photo, it is located:
First of all, we disconnect the plug with the power wires from the camshaft position sensor:
And then unscrew it with the head from the end, where it is fastened with a bolt:
And then you can remove the sensor from its seat without any problems, as shown in the photo below:
Installation of this part is carried out in reverse order. Another point worth noting is that during this procedure, it is better to disconnect the terminal from the battery.
