In the event of a malfunction, this sensor transmits erroneous data, which leads to malfunctions not only of the engine, but also of other vehicle components. The vehicle speed meter (DSA) sends signals to a sensor that monitors engine idling and also uses PPX to monitor air flow past the throttle. The higher the speed of the machine, the higher the frequency of these signals.

Method 1 (check with a voltmeter)

  • Remove the speed sensor.
  • We use a voltmeter. Find out which terminal is responsible for what. We connect the input contact of the voltmeter to the terminal that produces pulse signals. We ground the second contact of the voltmeter to the engine or machine body.
  • By rotating the speed sensor, we determine the presence of signals in the duty cycle and measure the output voltage of the sensor. To do this, a piece of pipe can be put on the sensor axis (rotate at a speed of 3-5 km / h). The faster the sensor rotates, the higher the voltage and frequency on the voltmeter will be.

Since this year, the Bosch 17.9.7 ECU with the standard mileage log function has also appeared in the car.

The main advantage of our device is that it winds up both the speedometer and the ECU. You will not have problems with the passage of maintenance at an authorized dealer, because thanks to this, the indicators will be the same everywhere.

1 Connection to the cigarette lighter

The easiest option is to insert the winding of the speedometer into the cigarette lighter socket. In order for the device to work, you need to pull out the boost wire (if you have ABS or not, it doesn’t matter).

It will be more convenient and easier to remove the desired wire from the board. In a nutshell: extend the cable and take it to a place convenient for you and invisible to others.

Even if your car is under warranty, you have nothing to worry about because the car's electrical system is not affected and the connected cable is not detected. This is easy to understand with the example of an extension cord for a socket, it does not penetrate the wiring itself, but serves to facilitate the connection of the socket and equipment.

2 Connecting to the diagnostic socket

Another option is to connect the pulse cable to the diagnostic connector to configure the device.

One of the characteristics of a mechanical speedometer is the gear ratio of its internal gearbox. According to accepted international standards, it should be equal to 1000, that is, for any unit of the distance traveled, there are a thousand revolutions: 1000 revolutions per mile in the English system of measurement, 1000 revolutions per kilometer in the metric system of measurement

I put an electronic speedometer and wanted to screw the sensor, I didn’t think that there could be problems with this, as it turned out, the M18x1,5 thread on the sensor and where to screw the M22x1,5 ... Is there another setting for the same? with a gear drive or something, you need another sensor?
