Give way to pedestrians, which is another police action.

Give way to pedestrians, which is another police action. Silesian road traffic, taking care of the safety of unprotected road users, initiated another project. It is dedicated to pedestrians as well as other road users who have a significant impact on the safety of non-motorized people.

The "Yield Pedestrians" campaign aims to improve pedestrian safety and take special care of this group of road users who are at risk of collisions even in lanes. As the statistics of recent years show, the vast majority of accidents involving pedestrians due to the fault of the driver occurred in settlements. Worryingly, many of these deductions took place in places where pedestrians should feel safe, ie. on the "zebra".

“Give way to pedestrians” is a new preventive action for road safety. Silesian police officers are supported by the Voivodeship Traffic Center and the Directorate General of National Roads and Highways. This time, law enforcement officers pay special attention to the threats posed by drivers to pedestrians. All this in order to make road users aware of the importance of their safety. The actions of the police were supported by the team world champion in ski jumping Piotr Zhyla, who became the face of the campaign, as well as the Polish rally driver Kajetan Kaetanovic.

Children were also included in the safety propaganda, who, together with the traffic police, checked whether people were driving everyone in the lanes. Drivers who obey the rules of the road were thanked by children - posters with hand-drawn rules for road safety.

The action was warmly welcomed both by the drivers who agreed to receive their work from the children, noting their enthusiasm and desire to promote road safety, and by the students themselves, who willingly took part in the action. Their attitude is valuable for the inhabitants of the city because it contributes to life and health.
