DCAS - Remote Control Assistance System

After ABS, ESP and others, there is DCAS, an electronic device that allows drivers to check the distance between their vehicle and the vehicle in front.

Its work is based on a radar sensor installed in the front bumper and capable of determining the safe distance and relative speed of two vehicles in front of each other. As soon as this distance is compromised, DCAS warns the driver with an audible signal and a warning light on the dashboard, prompting him to brake.

Not only. The accelerator pedal is automatically raised, guiding the driver's foot towards the brake. If, on the other hand, the driver releases the accelerator pedal and does not press the pedal, the system automatically applies the brakes.

For the Japanese giant, DCAS represents a small revolution in its range (although it is currently unknown on which vehicles it will be installed and at what price), and it is still part of a larger project called Defensive Shield. an accident prevention and management program based on the concept of “vehicles that help protect people”.
