Bjorn Nyland tested the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro S variant with the largest currently available battery, 77 (82) kWh. The measurement showed that the user has about 75,5 kWh of battery at his disposal, but the car's range on motorways turned out to be good: 325 kilometers on a single charge.

The car ran on 19-inch rims (tires 215/50 R19), the temperature outside was 2,5-5,5-7,5 degrees Celsius, so we were dealing with the equivalent of a sunny spring or winter day in Poland, when the temperature increases by 10 degrees, values ​​below should increase by a few percent.

With GPS 90 km / h (calculated: 93 km) the vehicle consumed 16,2 kWh / 100 km (162 Wh / km) and would run on a full battery. 466 km. In 120 km / h, the power reserve of the VW ID.3 Pro S was 325 kilometers.. 90 km/h should be considered the equivalent of driving between city and suburbs, while 120 km/h should be considered the typical motorway equivalent. Even when we set the cruise control to 125-130 kilometers, the range of the car should be similar due to traffic congestion on our roads.

It is easy to calculate that when using a car in the 80-10 percent range, we will cover less than 330 kilometers at a speed of 90 km / h and less than 230 kilometers at a speed of 120 km / h. In turn, charging the car from 10 to 80 percent should take about 35 minutes, so we can easily calculate that even a long vacation route (555 kilometers) will cost us a little over half an hour of waiting for charging... With only one caveat: the machine must be put on a charger with a capacity of at least 150 kW.

The shorter the route, the shorter the stopping time will be. Likewise: the weaker the charger, the longer the break will be.

Volkswagen ID.3 It is a C-segment (compact) car with a 77 kWh battery and a 150 kW (204 hp) engine that drives the rear wheels. The manufacturer declares 549 WLTP range units... In Poland this model is available from PLN 181, but it is an option for 990 people. The cheapest option for 4 people is called Pro S Tour 5 and starts at PLN 5.
