C360 engine - two generations of the iconic unit of Ursus tractors

The Polish manufacturer also started a collaboration with the British in the development of the 3P unit, which was also used in the domestic manufacturer's tractors. It was a Perkins motorcycle. The C360 tractor itself is the successor to the C355 and C355M models. Learn more about the features of the C360 engine.

First generation C360 engine - when was it produced for agricultural tractors?

The distribution of this unit lasted from 1976 to 1994. More than 282 tractors left the factories of the Polish manufacturer. The car had a 4 × 2 drive, and the maximum speed was 24 kilometers per hour. Weight without weights was 2170 kg. In turn, the tractor ready for work had 2700 kg, and the jack alone could lift 1200 kg.

The tractor used a front non-driving and rigid axle, which was oscillatingly mounted on a trunnion. It was also decided to use a ball screw steering mechanism, as well as a drum, independent hydraulic brake on both rear wheels.

In some instances of the C 360 engine, it was also decided to apply a single-sided brake to the right wheel. The user could also use the top transport hitch, swivel hitch and also for single axle trailers. The maximum forward speed of the tractor was 25,4 km/h with 13-28 tires.

Actuator S-4003 - see product information and specifications

The C360 engine used in the first generation tractors is called the S-4003. It was a liquid-cooled diesel four-cylinder unit with a bore/stroke of 95 × 110 millimeters and a displacement of 3121 cm³. The engine also had an output of 38,2 kW (52 hp) DIN at 2200 rpm and maximum torque of 190 Nm at 1500-1600 rpm. This unit also used the R24-29 injection pump, which was manufactured at the WSK “PZL-Mielec” injection pump plant. Other parameters worth paying attention to are the compression ratio - 17: 1 and the oil pressure during operation of the unit - 1,5-5,5 kg / cm².

The second generation C360 engine - what is worth knowing about it?

The Ursus C-360 II was produced from 2015 to 2017 by Ursus SA based in Lublin. This is a modern machine with a 4 × 4 drive. It has a top speed of 30 km/ha and weighs 3150 kg without weight.

Also, the designers decided to install on the engine such details as a two-plate dry clutch with independent PTO control. The design also included a Carraro transmission with a mechanical shuttle, as well as a 12/12 (forward/reverse) ratio format. All this was complemented by a mechanical differential lock.

The model could also have additional equipment

Optionally, an agricultural hitch, a three-point hitch and front weights of 440 kg and rear weights of 210 kg were installed. The customer could also choose 4 external hydraulic quick couplers at the front, beacon and air conditioner.

Perkins 3100 FLT drive

In the second generation tractor, Ursus used a Perkins 3100 FLT unit. It was a three-cylinder, diesel and turbocharged liquid-cooled engine with a volume of 2893 cm³. It had an output of 43 kW (58 hp) DIN at 2100 rpm and a maximum torque of 230 Nm at 1300 rpm.

Ursus engine blocks can work well on small farms

The first generation is inextricably linked with Polish farms. Works great in small areas up to 15 hectares. It provides optimal power for everyday work, and the simple design of the Ursus C-360 engine simplifies its maintenance and allows even older units to be used intensively.

In the case of the second, much younger version of the 360, it is difficult to unequivocally determine how the Ursus product will work in everyday use. However, looking at its technical specifications, one can predict that the C360 engine will stand out as a practical piece of agricultural equipment, working as a feed truck or for rituals. Equipment items such as air conditioning, Perkins' higher drive culture, or front weights as standard also encourage the purchase of a newer version. It's also worth noting that you can still find old C-360-powered Ursus tractors in the secondary market that might work well for your job as well.
