C330 engines - characteristics of the cult unit of the Polish manufacturer

The Ursus C330 was produced from 1967 to 1987 by the Ursus mechanical factory, which was located in Warsaw. C330 engines have helped many farmers in their daily work, and have also proven themselves in tasks performed by construction, industrial enterprises and utilities. We present the most important information about the device and the engine installed in it.

What is worth knowing about the Ursus C330?

The designers were given the task of creating a tractor that would prove itself in heavy agricultural work. However, due to the characteristics of the device, it was also used in other industries, for example, in mechanical engineering. economical transport. It's nice to know that the tractor was designed with practical use in the field in mind. For this reason, it has many features, including compatibility with attachments and machines that are towed, mounted and driven by a PTO or pulley. The load capacity at the lower ends of the three-point hitch was 6,9 kN/700 kg.

Tractor specifications

The Ursus agricultural tractor had four wheels and a frameless design. The Polish manufacturer also equipped it with rear-wheel drive. The product specification also includes a two-stage dry clutch and a gearbox with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. The driver could accelerate the car to 23,44 km / h, and the minimum speed was 1,87 km / h.

What made the Ursus agricultural tractor different?

As for the steering mechanism of the tractor, Ursus used a bevel gear and the machine could be braked using mechanically operated rim brakes. TThe raktor is also equipped with a three-point linkage with a hydraulic lift. They also took care of starting the car in difficult conditions, at low temperatures. This problem was solved by installing SM8/300 W heaters that kept the starter running at 2,9 kW (4 hp). Ursus also installed two 6V/165Ah batteries that were connected in series.

Attachments for Tractors - C330 Engines

In the case of this model, you can find several varieties of drive units. It:

  • S312;
  • S312a;
  • S312b;
  • S312.

Ursus also used the diesel, four-stroke and 2-cylinder S312d model, which was equipped with direct fuel injection. It had a working volume of 1960 cm³ with a compression ratio of 17 and an injection pressure of 13,2 MPa (135 kgf / cm²). Fuel consumption was 265 g/kWh (195 g/kmh). The tractor equipment also included a full-flow oil filter PP-8,4, as well as a wet cyclone air filter. Cooling was carried out using forced circulation of the liquid and was regulated by a thermostat. Many people wonder how much the C330 engine weighs. The gross weight of the dry engine is 320,5 kg.

On-demand hardware add-ons - what might they include?

The contracting authority may also require certain pieces of equipment to be added to its tractor. Ursus has additionally designed units with a compressor with pneumatic tire inflation, air brake control systems for trailers, downpipes or rear wheels for row crops with special tires, twin rear wheels or rear wheel weights. Some tractors were also equipped with bottom and center links for DIN tractor parts or swing hitch for single axle trailers, belt attachment or gear wheels. Special tooling equipment was also available.

The agricultural tractor C 330 from Ursus has a good reputation.

The Ursus C330 has become a cult machine and is one of the most valuable agricultural machines produced in 1967.-1987 Its previous version was the C325 tractors, and its successors are the C328 and C335. It is also worth noting that after 1987 a new version of the 330M was created. It was distinguished by gear shifting, which increased the speed of the tractor by about 8%, a reinforced exhaust silencer, bearings in the gearbox and rear drive axle, as well as additional equipment - an upper hitch. The version received similarly good reviews.

Users praised the C330 and C330M engines for their portability, economy, ease of maintenance, and the availability of engine parts such as engine heads, which were available from many stores. Particularly noteworthy is the quality of workmanship, which ensured durability and made it possible to use the Ursus tractor even for heavy work.
