This motor was installed more often on Chevrolet Cruze and Aveo cars. The new 1.6-liter power unit was obtained from the predecessor F16D3, but in fact it is an analogue of Opel's A16XER, released under Euro-5. It was equipped with a universal automatic adjustment of the valve timing VVT. One of the main problems of the predecessor has been solved - on the F16D4, the valves do not hang, there is no exhaust recirculation system, and the hydraulic lifters have been replaced with calibrated cups.
