Nissan CA is a piston internal combustion engine with a volume of 1,6 to 2 liters. It was developed for small Nissan cars and replaced the Z engines and some smaller L-series 4-cylinder engines.

The motor is completely metal, its head is made of aluminum. Unlike the internal combustion engines of the Z and L series, instead of an iron timing chain, it has a gas distribution belt. This makes this model cheaper.

Early CA models had 8 valves driven by a single camshaft.

Later versions of the engine received an electronic gasoline injection system.
