Opel Z19DT engine
Diesel engines manufactured by General Motors are widely known as high-quality, reliable and durable power units that can travel hundreds of thousands of kilometers without additional repairs and expensive maintenance. The Opel Z19DT model was no exception, which is a conventional turbocharged diesel engine installed on cars of the C and H series, the third generation. By its design, this engine is partially borrowed from FIAT, and the assembly was carried out directly in Germany, at the notorious, ultra-modern plant in the city of Kaiserslautern.
During the period of its production from 2004 to 2008, this four-cylinder diesel engine managed to win the hearts of many motorists and was then forced out of the market by the Opel counterpart with the Z19DTH marking. This is one of the most economical and at the same time reliable power units in its class. As for less powerful analogues, the Z17DT motor and its continuation Z17DTH can be safely attributed to this family.

- breakdown of the ignition module. It can be caused by the use of bad engine oil and low-quality spark plugs. Therefore, when replacing, it is necessary to pay attention only to products recommended by the manufacturer;
- oil leaks at the joints and from under the gaskets and seals. The problem occurs after too high clamping force, after repairs. The problem is fixed by replacing the above.
