The main difference between this internal combustion engine and its predecessors is the widespread use of foreign components in the assembly. First of all, this concerns a lightweight connecting rod and piston group manufactured by Federal Mogul, as well as a timing belt with an automatic tensioner from Gates.
Due to the strict requirements of the American company, the manufacturer of the LPG, additional procedures are carried out on the conveyor for processing the surfaces of the block, as well as honing the cylinders. There were also disadvantages here: new pistons without holes made the power unit plug-in. Update: since mid-2018, the motors have received an update in the form of plug-in pistons.
Otherwise, everything is familiar here: a cast-iron block, which traces its history back to the VAZ 21083, a standard 16-valve aluminum head with two camshafts for VAZ products, the presence of hydraulic compensators saves you from having to adjust valve clearances.

Compared to the 16-valve VAZ 21124 engine that disappointed with its low power, the new internal combustion engine turned out to be more successful. On its basis, many sports engines were created.
However, many owners were upset by the fact that due to the use of a lightweight piston, the engineers had to abandon the holes in the pistons and when the belt broke, the valves began to bend. And only in the middle of 2018, the manufacturer finally returned plugless pistons to the engine.

According to the service book, after zero maintenance for 2500 km, the motor is serviced every 15 km. But many believe that the interval should be 000 km, especially for sports internal combustion engines.
During a normal replacement, the power unit includes from 3.0 to 3.5 liters of oil such as 5W-30 or 5W-40.
