A few words about the lineup

The Japanese were the first to adopt an interesting variation of cars with a number of off-road characteristics. If Mitsubishi or the same Honda immediately mastered a new field of activity, then Nissan had some problems in this regard.

One of the first really worthwhile and popular crossovers from this automaker was the previously summarized Juke. His concept, not devoid of specific features, immediately formed a huge army of fans around the model.

Not without reason, the release of the Nissan Juke, which began in 2010, continues to this day and has no prerequisites for completion. By the way, cars of this line are assembled both in Japan itself and in Europe in England.

The design of the well-known "Beetle" began in the mid-00s. The final version of the model was created on the basis of the concept called "Qazana", which was presented in Geneva in 2009.

Even then, the future Nissan Juke was received quite warmly, which is why the lineup began to predict good prospects. The latter were unfounded, which contributed to the reckoning of the new lineup with such popular cars as the Qashqai crossover and the Note minivan.

The Juke itself is a rather specific car, perfect for city driving. In the usual sense of the word, it is not a crossover, but represents its mini-variation. Simply put, technically, the Beetle is an ordinary passenger model made in an SUV body. Since this model belongs to a new generation of Nissan cars, it can be found in completely different trim levels. So, in the Nissan Juke, both gasoline and diesel units are installed, supplemented by either a manual or automatic transmission. In general, every potential owner of the mini-crossover in question has a field for choice, moreover, it is quite wide.

Nissan Juke is on the conveyor release not so long ago, but it already has several variations and restylings. As for the engine range of the model, it has as many as five engines:

  • HR15DE - 1,5-liter power plant with a gasoline fuel system on the injector.
  • The HR16DE is a 1,6-liter unit similar to the one discussed above, but with a more thoughtful and high-quality concept.
  • MR16DDT - turbocharged engine with 1,6 liters of volume, running on gasoline.
  • The VR38DETT is a 3,8-liter "giant" taken from the Nissan GTR and installed in a limited series in the most powerful model from the Beetle line called the Nissan Juke-R.
  • The K9K is a 1,5-liter turbo diesel engine borrowed from Renault.

Note! In limited editions of the Zhuk model line, you can also find some other motors. The distribution of the latter is extremely insignificant, therefore, the ones noted above should be considered as the main units of the Nissan car.

In most Nissan Juke, which position themselves as budget cars, inexpensive motors such as HR15DE, HR16DE, MR16DDT and K9K are installed. Naturally, the 550-horsepower VR38DETT is rarely seen on mini-crossovers of the line due to its high cost and low prevalence on public roads. With what engine to buy a crossover

All Nissan Juke engines are of good quality, decent resource and excellent functionality. Judging by the reviews of the owners of different configurations of the model, we can single out the top three strongest power units. These include:

  • HR15DE;
  • HR16DE;
  • and K9K.

Problems of any kind with these motors are very rare, so they can only be advised for purchase.

As for the MR16DDT and VR38DETT engines, they also have a good level of reliability. Despite this, for the presence of a turbine and higher power, you have to slightly sacrifice the final quality.

The complexity of the design of these motors is often the result of their malfunctions, which any Nissan Juke operator with MR16DDT or VR38DETT should be prepared for. Given this state of affairs, our resource will recommend them for purchase to a lesser extent.
