Nissan Liberty engines

Nissan Liberty is a minivan class car. The model had three rows of seats. The total number of passengers is seven (six passengers plus the driver).

Nissan Liberty entered the market back in 1998, it was a variation of the Prairie model (third generation).

At that time, the model was not called the Nissan Liberty, but the Nissan Prairie Liberty. Only in 2001, when the manufacturer's lineup was replaced, the car began to be referred to as Nissan Liberty, at the same time there were some technical changes in the car, but more on that below.

Car "stuffing".

The landing pattern in a minivan is classic: 2-3-2. The peculiarity is that in the first row of the car it is possible to seamlessly transfer from one seat to another, and vice versa. The second passenger row is full-fledged, classic, without any nuances. The third row is not very spacious, but you can go even for decent distances.Nissan Liberty engines

The very first versions of the model were equipped with an SR-20 (SR20DE) engine, its power was 140 horsepower, it had 4 cylinders, which were located in a row. The working volume of the engine is 2 liters exactly. A little later (in 2001), the power unit was changed on the Nissan Liberty, now they began to install the power gasoline unit QR-20 (QR20DE), its power grew to 147 "horses", and the volume remained the same (2,0 liters). It is worth saying that the SR-20 motor had a specially tuned version, it produced 230 horsepower. With this engine, the minivan was very incendiary on the road.

The model was equipped with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The front-wheel drive variant was equipped with a Hyper-CVT continuously variable transmission (Nissan's own development). A classic four-speed automatic torque converter was installed on the all-wheel drive Liberty.

At the time when the name of the car was changed from Nissan Prairie Liberty to Nissan Liberty, the manufacturer replaced the simple 4WD system with a more advanced version called All control 4WD.

Nostalgia

In general, in the modern world there are not enough such cars. They were real Japanese samurai. Solitary copies of such cars have survived to this day, and those rare owners of them inspire respect in other car owners on the road.Nissan Liberty engines

A feature of the car is a side sliding door. Nissan developers were the first to offer such a solution on two-liter minivans. It is worth noting that such a door is very comfortable in terms of fit and loses a little to the classic version in terms of sound insulation.

Reviews and spare parts

An old Japanese car is the subject of Japanese quality stories. And indeed it is. They don't break and probably never will! Nissan Liberty is very simple in its design, if we conclude from the reviews of the owners, it is very easy to repair it, although this is extremely rarely required. The thick metal of the machines of those years is still in good condition.Nissan Liberty engines

The owners claim that spare parts for Nissan Liberty are inexpensive, but they are not always in stock and it is not always possible to find what you need quickly. But, the owners of rare Nissan Liberty say that everything can be picked up from other models, there are no problems, you just need ingenuity and free time.

Is it worth taking

Nissan Liberty enginesIt is unlikely that you will be able to find any other such cheap and reliable minivan with such a low cost of ownership. But, the whole catch lies in the fact that you are unlikely to be able to find the Nissan Liberty itself on sale quickly, but whoever searches always finds it. Also, not everyone decides to buy a right-hand drive car, and left-hand drive Nissan Liberty has never been produced!
