Skoda Felicia is a Czech-made car produced by the popular Skoda company of the same name. This model was very popular in Russia at the turn of the millennium. Among the features of the machine can be noted excellent operational data and an increased level of reliability.

History of the car
Before talking about the types of engines used, it is worth studying the history of the model. And an interesting fact is that Felicia is not a separate model. This is just a modification of the company's standard car, so at first everything looked extremely conditional.
The car first appeared in 1994, and the first mention of the model was back in 1959, when the Skoda Octavia was created. Felicia was the result of hard work and was a modernization of the previously produced Favorit model.
At first, the company released two modifications of the Skoda Felicia model:
- Pickup. It turned out to be quite massive and could carry weight up to 600 kg.
- Five-door station wagon. Nice car, suitable for traveling around the world.
If we compare the Skoda Felicia with an analog one, we can conclude that this model significantly surpassed the Favorit in all respects and, moreover, looked much more attractive. So, for example, among the differences it is worth noting:
- Improved specifications.
- High quality construction.
- Enlarged rear door opening.
- Lowered bumper, thanks to which it was possible to reduce the loading height.
- Updated rear lights.
In 1996, there was a slight change in the model. The salon became more spacious, and the handwriting of German manufacturers was guessed in the details. Also, the updated version made it possible to regulate the boarding and disembarking of rear and front passengers, it has become more convenient and not as problematic as it was before.
The first Skoda Felicia model was equipped with an engine with a maximum power of 40 hp. The updated version allowed the use of a higher power ICE - 75 hp, which made the car much more attractive. It is worth noting that for the entire time of the release of the model, it was installed mainly with manual transmission.
Potential owners could purchase Felicia in two trim levels:
- LX standard. In this case, it was about the presence in the car of such devices as a tachometer, an electronic clock and automatic switches for external lighting. As for the adjustment of the height of the external observation mirrors, it was carried out manually.
- GLX deluxe. It implied the presence of the same devices as in the case of the standard configuration, and was also additionally equipped with a hydraulic power steering and an electric drive, thanks to which the mirrors were automatically adjusted.
The production and release of the model ended in 2000, when its next modernization took place. Many noted that in terms of the exterior, the car became almost unrecognizable, and acquired all the features of the Skoda Octavia known by that time.
If you look at the interior of the updated model, you can feel that something is missing in it, although manufacturers and designers have tried to make it as spacious and comfortable as possible.
In 1998, the Skoda Felicia was produced in various modifications, but the demand for the model gradually faded away, until in the end the demand for the car dropped to a critical point. This forced Skoda to withdraw the vehicle from sales and discontinue production of this model. It was replaced by the Skoda Fabia.
What engines are installed?

Among the presented engines, it is worth noting several that turned out to be of the highest quality and in demand among true motorists. Among them:
- AEE. It is a unit with a volume of 1,6 liters. In addition to Skoda, it was also installed on Volkswagen cars. The engine was produced from 1995 to 2000, assembled at a popular concern. It is considered a fairly reliable unit, and among the shortcomings, only the occurrence of periodic wiring problems and the poor location of the control unit are noted. With proper care, the motor can last a long time without any serious damage. To achieve this, it is enough to regularly inspect the engine, as well as carry out timely repairs or replacement of parts, if necessary.
- AMH. Another popular engine whose characteristics attract many car owners. So, for example, the unit is equipped with four cylinders and has 8 valves, which allows you to achieve uninterrupted and reliable operation of the vehicle. The maximum torque is 2600 rpm, and gasoline is used as fuel. Additionally, it is worth noting that the unit is equipped with a timing chain and water cooling, which makes it possible to avoid overheating of the device.
- 136M. This engine is practically no different from the one presented above. Its characteristics have similar indicators, which allows us to conclude about the quality of the engine in the process of driving. The only thing worth noting is that the engine manufacturer is Skoda, so it is not surprising that the unit was used in the Felicia model.
Which engine is the best?
Among these options, AMH is considered the best. Also, the optimal solution is to choose a Skoda Felicia equipped with a 136M engine, since this internal combustion engine is manufactured by the same company.
