EAVan is a four-wheeled electric bike developed by the English startup EAV (Electric Assisted Vehicles). Primarily intended for delivery applications, it has already outperformed DPD, the international subsidiary of the La Poste group.

Like Citkar's Loadster or the Berlin-based startup Ono of the same name, EAVan is an alternative to small vans for delivery to urban centers.

Equipped with an electric assistance system, the EAVan can independently move at speeds of up to 5 km / h. In addition, in accordance with the law, it can assist the driver at speeds up to 25 km / h. The EAVan is configured to cover up to 48 kilometers on a single charge, and has a recuperation system. energy during freewheel phases and can be equipped with a second battery. Mounted on the roof so as not to limit the cargo space, it allows you to increase the flight range to 96 kilometers on a single charge.

First contract with DPD

At the beginning of its activity, EAV already managed to win over the DPD delivery service. The latter ordered twelve copies of the model, with which he intends to experiment in various applications.

In practice, DPD has opted for a short wheelbase version that provides payloads of up to 120 kg. In the extended version, the EAVan offers up to 175 kg payload.

When it comes to price, the car isn't really cheap. Count 10.000 12.000 pounds for the short version and 11.000 13.100 for the long version, i.e. XNUMX XNUMX and XNUMX XNUMX euros respectively.
