We went: Akrapovich Morsus

When Akrapović decided to try his hand in the custom segment many years ago, the scene was quite surprised. “Oh, ah,” the SUVs sighed. “I suppose they won’t rush there?” – asked the riders, accustomed to the fact that the guns from Ivančna rumble more than not on the tracks of the world. Yes, but they rushed straight "there" - to the Harleys. But how to arouse interest in a scene locked in its own world, which finds it difficult to accept compromises and otherness? A scene in which the world revolves around the two-wave rhythm of American goods and where marriage is a black grandfather in leather and chrome from his fairy tale. Heh, finding a piece of the new and unknown. Originality. It's difficult, but still possible.

In the beginning, the idea was ...

The project of entering this segment was entrusted to the marketing of the company, and there the idea of an advertising motorcycle was born. But how to do it, who will do it? Tomaj Kapuder and his company Dreamachine appeared as Balthazar from the (once) famous cartoon. Kapl, as he is called, has been composing fairy tales for many years. He lives on stage and behind the scenes. He has a workshop in Hameln under the Schmarna gora.

Remember Häkkinen's F1 racing car style story from years ago? It was made by Capl. He appreciates the company and the success of Igor Akrapovich and his company. “It was an honor for me to be invited to participate. I have a lot of respect for Igor,” he says. “We quickly came up with the idea of a fairy tale in the form of a scorpion, the problem was in the embodiment. We were driven by time, as I had a little less than 100 days to confirm this idea. I didn't sleep then."

And this is what Morsus has become

The motorcycle gradually brought into shape. Carbon. Almost all parts are made to order or are exclusive. The frame, which houses the fuel in the front, is woven around a 1.852 cubic foot Harley engine with a posh S&S hairdo. Thomas' work. Suni about 114 "horses". The exhaust (the current one is an evolution of the first version), of course, was made by Akrapović. Of course, titanium. Transmission is through a six-speed Ecoline gearbox, hydraulic clutch and chain. Front telescopic fork - Showine, rear suspension under the seat - Fox.

The handlebar is a Dremachin product, the levers are PT controls. The bike follows the shape of racing cars of the 20s with large wheels. On Morsus, they are 26-inch aluminum lined with carbon fiber. “This is how I paid tribute to Igor and his racing world,” Kapl says. By the way, he also follows the races himself. Road. Morsus was first presented to the public at the Akrapovic conference for their representatives and importers at Ljubljana Castle in the spring of 2011. This generated a lot of interest. The Russian agent immediately demanded three people: “I pay in cash,” he said specifically. But the bike is not for sale and will remain unique. Unique and inimitable.

Awards and recognitions

Interest in it was huge among visitors to events, exhibitions, fairs and salons - wherever it was exhibited. He has received several awards and recognitions. It won the best bike award in Biograd, was declared best bike at Harley Days in Barcelona and Morzine on Lake Baska, and won European Bike Week in the Radical category. He was also there in 2011 "Best in show". “Of all the awards, 11th place in Sturgis in the Freestyle Class category, which is considered a kind of world championship for custom models, means the most to me,” says Kaple. “This is a real success, as well as congratulations from all the main creators of fairy tales on Baska Lake. I am very proud of it,” he added.

So is this driving?

When Capl starts it up, it doesn't light up at first. The nearly two-liter car thunders air through a specially designed air filter, which is actually the carbon cap of Akrapovich's exhaust pipe. Nice addition. After several attempts, the engine stalls, hisses and rumbles. The dual open exhaust, mounted under the engine, emits a drum-like sound that vibrates into the abdomen and hits the ears with air waves. It's loud.

The sound picture becomes even more direct, even more aggressive, when Robert sits on it and turns on the throttle. He seduces himself. So this is not just an exhibition, a “bike show” is a real, unique car. Robie was sprawled out on top of him like a spider in a motorcycle suit and a jump helmet. You can see how he enjoys it. I sit behind him alone. Hey, the “seat” position, where there is only a little soft foam, is very low, the legs are back, the handlebars are wide. I'm almost lying on the motorcycle. Waves of noise and adrenaline wash over me as I gently transition into the first (usually down). I row with my feet in search of support. I find her. And I'm already driving. It's hard.

At low speeds, the front end is damn difficult to control, large wheels have their own inertia. I feel like the car accelerates with power. The center of gravity is deceptive, unlike other bikes, because at some point I feel like I'm going to fall - hmm, or do I just feel like it? There are no counters, only a pretty piece of a front cross and a spinning wheel without wings in front of the nose. I don't even look in the scorpion mirrors because I'm soon shown to finish the trip. Hey guys, stop it, I'd still...

Robert Kranets

The bike looks really fantastic, as if it were not from this planet. About driving: hmmm, he seems very strong, I really liked the position on him, I expected that he would ride harder than he really was.
