“New generation cars are equipped with computers that control the operation of the engine,” explains Ryszard Larisz, Volkswagen and Audi service manager at the Lellek showroom in Berlin. Opole.

– It stores current faults in its memory that can lead to increased fuel consumption. That is why it is important to take the car to a mechanic at least once a year, who will connect to the computer and check whether the "heart" of the car is in order.

When trying to save money, we should check the air filter. Fuel clogging increases fuel consumption. Another savings comes from choosing the right tires. “When buying tires, you should not focus only on a low price,” our expert advises.

- The more expensive ones have the so-called. low rolling coefficient, which means the wheel spins with less resistance and, as a result, the engine consumes less fuel. We must also remember to maintain the correct tire pressure. Driving with too low pressure increases fuel consumption.

The air conditioner "devours" a lot of fuel. To save money, we should only use it in the summer. – It makes no sense to turn on the air conditioner, for example, when it is 15 degrees outside, and we want to heat up to 20, – says Ryszard Larysh.

Let's pay attention to what we transport in the car. Extra ballast, like snow chains in the summer or other unnecessary pounds, will not help you save money.
