On December 20, 1951, a nuclear reactor produced a usable amount of electricity for the first time in history. It happened in today's INEEL (Idaho National Environmental and Engineering Laboratory) of the US Department of Energy. At 13:50, the first electric current in history went from the EBR-1 (Experimental Breeder Reactor-1) nuclear generator.
