Proving that an electric motorcycle can be compatible with long-distance travel, Swiss Michel von Tell has just set an electric motorcycle distance record on the handlebars of his Harley-Davidson Livewire.

The ride, organized on March 11 and 12, allowed the Swiss biker to cross 4 European countries and cover a total of 1723 kilometers in 24 hours. This is 400 kilometers more than the previous record (1317 km) achieved on the track in September 2018 with a motorcycle from California Zero Motorcycles.

Quick charge

Departing from Zurich, Switzerland, Michel von Tell used a network of fast charging stations to recharge his electric motorcycle regularly, on average every 150-200 kilometers. A Harley-Davidson electric motorcycle equipped with a CSS Combo connector reports 0 to 40% recharge in 30 minutes and 0 to 100% in 60 minutes.

Unfortunately, this record will remain "unofficial" and will not be included in the famous Guinness Book of Records, as Michel von Tell did not want to pay the fees requested by the famous guide to confirm his crossing.
