Electric motorcycle: with Voxan Venturi reaches a record speed of 330 km / h

The Monaco-based company that bought Voxan in 2010 will make its attempt in the summer of 2020 at the Uyuni salt lake in Bolivia.

In the absence of production models, the Venturi sets records. Already distinguished several times for its electric prototypes at Salt Lake City in Bonneville, Utah, the Monaco-based manufacturer is now moving into the two-wheeler category. With his Wattman, Venturi wants to break the current speed record for electric motorcycles with one wheel drive and partially streamlined under 300 kg.

Designed by Sasha LAKICH and presented as the first "Made in Monaco" electric motorcycle, Voxan Wattman will reach its record attempt in the summer of 2020 at Bolivia's famous Uyuni salt lake. Goal: Reach 330 km / h to break the current record set at 327,608 km / h in 2013 by Jim HUGERHIDE in a LIGHTNING SB220.

Unless he has yet quantified the performance of the model attempting to re-record, Venturi intends to rely on his Formula E skills, in which he has participated since the first season, and the experience gained from his previous speed. records. Levers to increase the performance of his Wattman, which, according to aerodynamic requirements, should be different from the model presented in 2013 in Paris.

A record attempt that will be entrusted to the Italian driver Max Biaggi. Four-time world champion in the 250 cc class, the Italian pilot already in 1994 set the first speed record in the same category as Wattman. To be continued !
