Electric motorcycle: Vayon acquires Mission Motor

Having struggled financially for months, the Vayon group has just bought the California-based electric motorcycle maker Mission Motor.

Well known in the electric motorcycle world, Mission Motor made us dream of its "Mission R", a high-performance model, introduced in 2007 and capable of speeds up to 260 km / h, and opened a bright future for the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the financial difficulties of the Californian manufacturer forced it to file for bankruptcy in September 2015.

“The acquisition of Mission Motor, with its strong portfolio of electric powertrain technologies, fits perfectly into Vayon's strategy. By expanding our range of high performance solutions, we are strengthening our position in the electric powertrain segment,” said Shain Hussain, President of Vayon.

And if nothing has been announced about the future of the RS Mission, it's safe to say that Vayon is ditching the project to move on to supplying equipment and components to other manufacturers. To be continued…
