Electric scooter: Niu U-Mini debuts at EICMA

The latest novelty of the Chinese manufacturer Niu UM was presented in Milan at the EICMA exhibition.

Downsized from the U-Mini, the UM is Nu's main innovation at the two-wheeler show in Milan. Equipped with an 800-watt Bosch electric motor integrated directly into the rear wheel, the Niu UM has a top speed of 38 km/h and is designed primarily for urban travel. 

The removable battery weighs only 5kg and is made up of Panasonic 18650 cells. Running on 48V-21Ah, it has a capacity of around 1kWh, enough to cover 30 to 40 kilometers with a charge.

In terms of hardware, the U-Mini has front and rear lights, indicators, an LCD screen, and a USB charging port. On the bike side, it has two oil shock absorbers and two hydraulic brakes.

Equipped with pedals, this modern Solex can assist the user if needed, especially on hills. Please note that a version without UPro pedal is also available. Weighing 60 kg, this "professional" version uses the same engine and battery as the base version, but with a slightly higher top speed.   

In Europe, Niu UPro is sold from 1899 euros. Theoretically below that Niu U-Mini will be announced later ...
