Lime electric scooters hit Google Maps

One of the Californian startup's new investors, the web giant has launched a new update that allows Lime's electric scooters to be located through its Google Maps application. For the time being reserved for certain North American cities, it will probably be launched in Europe in the coming months.

“You've just got off the train and you have seven minutes to get to your first meeting on time - but it will take you 15 minutes to walk the rest of the way. You don't have time to walk, your bus is late and the next carpooling vehicle shouldn't arrive for 10 minutes… ”. For Google, the idea is to offer its users a new link for their daily journeys by integrating into its Maps application the possibility of using a Lime scooter or electric bike when searching for a route.

The proximity, the cost or the indicative time of the journey are part of the information integrated into Google Maps which will then offer a reservation solution in connection with the Lime application.

Auckland, Austin, Baltimore, Brisbane, Dallas, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Diego, Oakland, San Antonio, San Jose, Scottsdale and Seattle. For the time being reserved for 13 cities in North America, the update should soon be deployed in other cities in which Lime's electric vehicles are present. There is therefore a high probability that the system will land in Europe in the coming months. Case to be continued!
