Ergonomic FRITZ!Fon M2
ABM introduces another device from the "smart home" series to the market. In previous issues of Young Technician, we have already written about the FRITZ!Box 7272 multitasking router and the FRITZ!DECT 200 socket. Cordless phones are a smart home. We decided to test the silver-white model. FRIC! M2 fundspecially designed for FRITZ! Box with DECT base station. Our attention was immediately attracted by a high-quality monochrome display and a modern keyboard. The large font on the display makes it easy to navigate through the menu and the phone book, and convenient backlit buttons make it comfortable to use the device even in a dark room. The menu in Polish is clear and, admittedly, very intuitive to use. Thanks to the streamlined shape, the camera fits well in the hand. As soon as it is turned on, the phone registers quickly and automatically to the DECT base station - all you have to do is press a button on the FRITZ! and it's all.
The device supports fixed and Internet telephony with exceptional sound quality in HD technology. In addition, we can use it to receive email, listen to Internet radio or podcasts. FRITZ!Fon M2 is equipped with many interesting features such as hands-free mode, speed dial, baby monitor and alarm clock. Other features also deserve attention - an answering machine informing about all new messages and incoming calls, and a phone book in which we can store about 300 contacts and synchronize them online, for example, with Google.
The big advantage of the phone is that it can standby for up to ten days, and the batteries in the cordless handset keep it going for several days without recharging in the base station. The model uses the DECT Eco mode, which disables the wireless DECT connection between the router and the DECT base when they are in standby mode, which saves energy consumption significantly. Of course, with every incoming call, the phone instantly re-establishes wireless communication between the DECT handset and the base. DECT Eco can also be used in combination with Do Not Disturb. It is important to note that FRITZ!Fon M2 is secure from the very first moments of its operation, since it uses only encrypted connections.
We really like the phone from AVM. Its many features, low power consumption and modern design make it an excellent proposition for those who want to create a so-called smart home.
