By the way, Bimota desperately wants to go to the superbike championship with the DB7, but they are thwarted by regulations that require at least 1.000 (after 2010 3.000) production bikes sold, which is an unattainable number for a boutique manufacturer. In 2008, "only" 220 were sold, and all motorcycles, including Deliria, DB5 and Tesa, were about 500.

Not only does it have a new engine, the bike is new from the tires to the turn signals in the mirrors. As befits a Bimoto, the frame was assembled from milled pieces of aircraft-grade aluminum and steel tubing. The aluminum, expertly machined on precision computer-controlled machines, serves as a connecting piece to secure the rear wheel (axle) with swinging forks, the block is screwed onto a piece of shiny metal, and the steel tubes are then stretched towards the skeleton head.

If we look at the motorcycle from the side, we notice an almost entirely straight line from the rear wheel axle to the head of the frame, and on the other side there is an obvious line from the pointed rear to the front wheel. ... We dare to assert that they had this "cross" as a kind of basis when designing a new athlete. Saliva drips when looking at the crosspieces, brake and clutch levers, pedals, ends of the front levers of the telescope. ... The parts that are most often found on the list of accessories from other manufacturers are abundant.

All aerodynamic armor is made from carbon fiber. At first glance, this is not noticeable, since they are predominantly colored red-white, and untreated carbon is left only for sample. If you want to stand out on a motorcycle in all black, you can order the "heavy" version of the Oronero for € 39.960, which also has a light fiber frame (which is otherwise made of steel) and even more technology gems. including GPS, supported by high-tech fittings that recognize treadmills.

Going back to the "regular" DB7 - with a lighter frame, carbon armour, titanium exhaust system and lighter rims, they retained the weight you can feel when riding in the seat and even more while driving. Such a light bike, but so powerful! ?

If the bike didn't accelerate so much, I would easily give it a 600cc engine. It accelerates very strongly from the mid-range revs, doesn't stall or stop spinning flat. When you need to slow down to safely enter a corner, aggressively strong brakes come to the rescue, which obey the command of one finger and in a word - excellent. But they are difficult to use because the fuel tank is very narrow and slippery, and the seat is hard and slightly convex, which reduces traction.

During deceleration, all the force is taken on the hands, and there is no real contact of the motorcycle with the legs and buttocks during the transition between the turns. It's hard for me to imagine that it doesn't bother anyone, because we also noticed all the test drivers that day. Perhaps a rougher seat cover and non-slip fuel tank decals might correct this feeling, but the bitter aftertaste remains. ...

The downside of this bike is not the price, it should be high, but the body has too little contact with the bike. Everything else is great.

A tech lover can stare at the DB7 for hours.

First impression

Appearance 5/5

The silhouette is similar to the GP cars, incredibly beautifully crafted parts, lots of aluminum, carbon and blood red tubes. To some, a pair of headlights seems cheap and as if they were stolen from KTM's Duke.

Motor 5/5

An extremely powerful two-cylinder Ducati, which, due to different electronics and an exhaust system, gained quite good torque in the middle rev range. Towards the end of the tomb plain, it is still accelerating!

Comfort 1/5

Hard seat, too narrow and too slippery fuel tank, strictly sporty driving position. The wind protection is good.

Price 2/5

The fat one is nine thousand euros more expensive than the base Ducati 1098 and almost 6.000 euros more than the S version. ...

First class 4/5

Powerful engine, easy handling and a lot of exotic elements speak in favor of the Bimota, but the DB7 remains a car for a select few because of its price.
