Traveled: LML Star

LML (Lohia Machinery Limited) is an Indian motorcycle manufacturer that has been using licenses from well-known manufacturers since 1978 and has successfully used copies in the motorcycle world, which for the most part are almost identical to the originals. In 1984, a collaboration with the Italian Piaggio began and many of us still remember the LML T5 well, which was basically a copy of the original PX, only it had a square light and different gauges. And even today, some of them are happy to drive on our roads.

The jury Vespists never accepted the LML T5, but the truth is, the T5 was just as good as the PX. The fact that LML is a reliable manufacturer is also confirmed by the fact that Piaggio also entrusted this factory to produce a clone of its almost still “current” ET4 model.

LRS, trženje doo, has decided to offer the Slovenian nostalgics a Star model, which is almost identical to the last series of the original. You will say that this is not the case. But you are wrong. I know fans of the original will look askance at me, but due to minor improvements, I dare say that Star is even better. Why?

Because it has a halogen headlight, because a two-stroke can make the mixture itself, because it can also be a four-stroke, because it has a more transparent speedometer, because it also has an electric start, because it is mostly shod in Dunlop or Sava tires. and because they are always the same as the original and therefore offer the same sophisticated feeling.

As for the unit, it can be two-stroke or four-stroke, both with a volume of 125 or 150 cubic centimeters. Regardless of the choice of engine, the catalytic converter will pollute the environment somewhere within the Euro 3 standard. Two-stroke is what we know, and four-stroke is forced air-cooled and has two valves with an in-cylinder camshaft. head. It proves to be comfortable and flexible to drive, while the simple design promises reliability and thus perfectly combines tradition and innovation.

The transmission is still a four-speed manual, there is still a spare wheel under the left side (do you know any other scooter with a serial spare ??), the seat is long and comfortable, and it has a disc brake. front wheel. This reel may not work wonders, but the feeling that the reel cares about your safety is a little reassuring.

Among twelve different colors, a suitable steel forester and gentle George Michael will find the right one for you, and for an additional fee, it can also be combined with a choice of seat color. There are also loads of accessories, front and rear racks, windshield, front fender hose and pipes, and more. It's also nice to know that none of the listed parts are priced in three digits, and LMR's Gasper says the same is true for spare parts.

The price of a brand new Ve. Sorry, the new LML costs between € 2.680 and € 00. Considering the fact that a really good used original is nearly impossible to obtain, far from being reasonably priced, and given the fact that the new LML has a two-year warranty and virtually no real racing competition, there really isn't a dilemma. If you, of course, are interested in such a scooter.

And the first impression? I can say that LML Star, as a fan of the original, convinced me. So much so that I'm really looking forward to a longer trial. I know that at least 8 Trojan donuts fit in the box under the wheel, I know that the back side will burn Portorož, and I know that the left hand will hurt in the city. But I will do it again - I mulch. However, I do not believe that I will drive 60 kilometers on one liter, as they say in LML.

I'll let you know. Hi. Ouch, ? ? ? ? ? ? ...
