High beam headlamps: use, maintenance and price

To turn on the high beam headlights, all you have to do is use headlight control lever the switch is located to the left of the steering wheel. In fact, turn the steering column switch until it reaches the high beam symbol.

Required material:

• Protective gloves
• Protective glasses
• New light bulb

Step 1: find the HS lamp

First, find out which light bulb is no longer working. To do this, turn on the high beam and check the condition of each bulb in the car.

Step 2: disconnect the battery

Remember to disconnect one of the battery terminals to prevent any risk of electric shock when replacing the high beam bulb.

Step 3. Remove the defective bulb.

Once the battery is disconnected, you can finally work with the high beam in complete safety. Access the damaged headlamp through the hood or trunk and remove the rubber deflector disc. Continue by disconnecting the electrical wires connected to the high beam bulb. Then you can remove the faulty light bulb.

Step 4: Install a new light bulb

Then install the new bulb by following the previous steps in reverse order. Be careful not to forget the protective rubber disc.

Step 5. Check and adjust lighting.

Finally, make sure all of your high beam headlights are working properly. It is also advisable to adjust the headlights at the same time to make sure they are oriented correctly on the road.

💰 How much does a high beam bulb cost?

Count on average from 5 to 20 euros for a new high beam lamp. However, the price varies greatly depending on the type of lamp (xenon, LED, halogen ...) that you want to install on your vehicle. Indeed, each type of light bulb has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Xenon bulbs provide better luminous intensity but are more expensive. Conversely, halogen bulbs are less powerful but also less expensive. Finally, LED bulbs have good intensity and limit battery power consumption.
