Nothing turns society on like a fun board game. And “5 Seconds” is an absolute hit among party titles. Today we will look at where the phenomenon of this inconspicuous quiz game came from.

5 Seconds has three versions of the base game, two children's and three themed expansions. The first edition appeared in thirteen languages, even Greek and Romanian, which are quite exotic for the world of board games. What is hidden in this colorful box, from which subsequent investments fly like hot cakes?
Rules of the game
Let's start from the very beginning - what is "5 seconds"? In the box you will find a small "box" with 362 double-sided cards (meaning a total of 724 questions!), 16 cards on which we can write our own questions, several function cards ("Next" and "Change"), a game board, six figures and clow programs: a special "hourglass" five seconds in size with a metal ball sliding along a plastic spiral.
We start the game by placing the pieces at the beginning of the board track and then ask questions on the next cards from the pile. The responder must replace certain things within five seconds, such as three root crops or three Polish football players. If she succeeds in answering the question, she moves her pawn forward one space, otherwise she stands still. Then another player answers (to a new question, of course). Whoever reaches the finish line with their pawn wins! It's not difficult, is it?
Name three variants of the game "5 seconds"
Okay, why do we need these different versions and additions? Of course, to increase the pool of questions! “5 seconds” and “5 seconds 2.0” from Trefl are already one thousand and forty-eight slogans! Is it true that it can make your head spin? If you don't want to buy the two versions separately, you should go straight to the 5 Second Duet, which includes questions from both parts. If we still do not have enough, it is worth checking the additions for 5 seconds.
Personally, I really like 5 Seconds Journeys because it's the most versatile supplement. Each of us has some knowledge about geography and the traffic situation itself, so adding this extension will leave no one behind. Perhaps, especially during a pandemic, it is worth remembering trips from “normal” times.
Another add-on that will appeal to more active gamers and of course fans of all sports is 5 Seconds Sport. Here we can find questions about athletes, football clubs, records and popular stadiums. If sports is a daily topic in our group, this extension will be a lot of fun for everyone.
The last add-on (standalone, we don't need the base game) is 5 Seconds Uncensored. Of course, this is a 3+ version only, and the questions inside can be very sharp! We add that this is not only about sex, there are also questions such as “Name 5 places where you can hide the body”, which means that “XNUMX seconds without censorship” can be a great addition to an evening with adult friends.
Children play too!
5 Seconds has versions for children. These are "5 Seconds Junior" and "5 Seconds Junior 2.0". Here, of course, you can expect questions adapted to the age of the kids. So we will find cards with questions about fairy-tale characters, school subjects or games familiar to us from childhood. It's so cool that adults can play the younger version along with their kids. They just need to be prepared for the fact that their children will shift their knowledge onto their shoulders! If young board game players are already reading on their own, 5 Seconds is the perfect way to spend a Sabbath afternoon with siblings or classmates.
