Ferrari 458 Spider - fast roof
The Ferrari 458 Italia family has been replenished with a new body type, a coupe-cabriolet. This is the first combination of this type of roof with a sports car of this class.
In such a car, you can fall in love with models from catalogs with exclusive underwear - after all, they are there, but not for dog sausage. I must admit that Ferraris are very exclusive trinkets. The latest toy, 458 Spider, costs 226 euros in Europe. The Americans are a little better, because they need about 800 euros.
For this money, we get the perfect California dump truck. With a length of 452,7 cm and a width of 193,7 cm, it has a height of only 121,1 cm. You can also add a wheelbase of 265 cm. Just in the case of this model, this does not have much effect on the spaciousness of the cabin - it can fit just 2 people. However, there is also a V8 engine between the axles, located at the rear and driving the rear wheels. The high-speed engine has a volume of 4499 cc, develops 570 hp. and maximum torque of 540 Nm. All of this is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission straight out of F1.
The spider weighs 1430 kg, which allows it to reach speeds of 320 km / h and accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 3,4 seconds. To this must be added an average fuel consumption of 11,8 l/100 km and carbon dioxide emissions of 275 g/km.
Electronics help curb this temperament - the E-Diff differential, which allows you to adjust the drive to grip with the surface, and the F1-Trac traction control system. The differential allows you to choose between rain and snow, sport and racing modes, or turn it off completely. The use of a folding roof changed the rigidity of the car. Ferrari adapted the multi-link suspension to the new conditions by changing the stiffness of the shock absorbers.
The most interesting element of this version is the roof, which was used for the first time in this class of car. The folding two-section roof is made entirely of aluminum, which is 25 percent. lighter than traditional solutions, thanks to which it opens in 14 seconds. The retractable roof under the hood, parallel to its surface, does not take up much space. This made it possible to find a spacious luggage compartment behind the seatbacks. Behind the seats is an electrically adjustable windshield that acts as a vestibule. Ferrari claims that it allows you to have a free conversation even when driving at speeds up to 200 km / h. Unless, of course, it is drowned out by the sound of the engine, which has been slightly tweaked in the spider. If anyone wanted to listen, the first copies have already appeared in Poland.
