Honda Odyssey is the only right alternative for the family

Odysseus or Shuttle - beyond the Atlantic it is listed in the files as Odysseus, on the Old Continent it exists in the minds of drivers as the Shuttle. Although not always. Whatever you call it, the Honda Odyssey / Shuttle is one of the most interesting models of the Japanese concern, which at one time was called “The Best Car Ever Created” in the USA. I think that says something about this car.

Honda is best known for making cars designed for people with a sporty flair. Successive generations of CRX and Civic, with "types" and "types" in the foreground, all these cars were intended for people whose families were limited to an attractive soulmate at best. But Honda, knowing about the upcoming changes, also decided to bow to people who care about the natural growth of the world. In 1994, she launched the first van in Europe, called the Shuttle, and in the United States, the Odyssey. The first-generation Honda Shuttle, while long lingering in the "maxi-family" segment, did not make its market debut as a sophisticated newcomer - on the contrary, the Shuttle I was the first car in history to be offered with a folded third row of seats.

Since then, the Honda van has had four generations, each of which turned out to be much more mature than the previous one. In Europe Shuttle I was produced in 1994-1998. Shuttle II, much larger than its predecessor, was produced in 1999-2003. In 2003, the third version of the Honda van appeared on the market, which turned out to be a bestseller - a huge, well-made and equipped car conquered not only with its spaciousness, but also with its intricately traced body line that attracted the eye. Powerful, almost 4.8 m long, the car was not only capable of taking a large family on board, but also looked fantastic. Moreover, the successor, introduced in 2008, looks even more interesting.

The Honda Shuttle is a car that young, dynamic and childless single people cannot look back on. This is a car, the benefits of which are only appreciated over time and ... replenishment of the family.

Interestingly, Honda Odyssey is appearing more and more often on auction portals. cars imported from the USA. Moreover, these cars seem to be more than… European versions! The American and Euro-Japanese versions differ significantly from each other. The American version, much larger (length 5.2 m, width over 2 m) and addressed to oblique-loving Americans, was developed almost entirely independently of the European version. Hence, the timing of the release of different generations of the model in the American and European markets differ significantly.

Gasoline units, usually paired with automatic transmissions, can operate under the hood of cars. The most common engine in the Shuttle I was the 2.2 engine. from 150 hp The engine, coupled with the machine gun, did not shine with its performance, but, as one of the users wrote, “it allowed me to calmly ride between the speed cameras placed every now and then.” And although the powertrains changed in subsequent generations, the character of the car remained unchanged - the Shuttle / Odyssey is definitely a car for people who prefer "relaxed riding" on the road, rather than sprinting from traffic lights. For the latter, "typers" served much better and still serve.

The oldest Honda Shuttle is estimated at 6 - 8 thousand. zl. For this price, we get an old car, which, however, according to Japanese tradition, should continue to serve the next tens of thousands of kilometers without fail. However, there is no talk of a high level of security.

The last Honda Odyssey, brought from the USA, can be purchased for about 150 - 170 thousand. zl. For this price, we get almost everything that can be found on board a family car, from a VCM engine with cylinders detachable for slow driving, to a DVD and ... a refrigerator.

A stroller, a crib, four suitcases, two packs of diapers, small purchases and a dog bed - no matter how big the combo we have, it won't fit all of that. However, a car like the Honda Shuttle/Odyssey has it. Moreover, we, our wife, two kids and an elderly dog will also find a place for ourselves in this car. What else do you need?
