Ferrari has already patented an electric supercar

Titled "Electric or Hybrid Sports Car", Ferrari's patent marks the transition from powerful internal combustion engines to electric motors in exclusive sports supercars.

Ferrari makes huge profits with every car sold and has a higher market capitalization than the major car manufacturers. Financial success and exclusive cars relieve the brand of the need to develop something fashionable.

While other brands are already selling all-electric cars, and most of them are already working towards an all-electric vehicle by the end of the decade, Ferrari will only start producing the first all-electric car in 2025.

However, when the Italian automaker's CEO announced it, no details about the upcoming vehicle were made public. Now, thanks to a recent Ferrari patent discovered Drive unit we know more about this car than the Maranello engineers didn't want us to know.

The patent in question was filed in June 2019 but was only published a few days ago on January 26, 2022. Simply titled "Electric or Hybrid Sports Car," it gives us a detailed design of the automaker's new electric stallion.

double low steering wheel. The modular battery pack behind the passengers mimics the weight distribution of the rear mid-engined layout. In Ferrari design, you see the car tilted at the rear to provide extra cooling and downforce. There should also be room on the floor for additional battery packs.

Such a car will be a significant transition from powerful all-electric V8 and V12 engines.

The system pictured will also work as a hybrid setup, although not in the traditional way. For a hybrid vehicle application, the battery will be centrally located and the internal combustion engine will be located in either the rear or front compartments.

Little is known so far and we just have to wait for the car manufacturer to provide us with more information about this car and its operating system.
