Ford Mondeo Karavan 2.0 TDCi (130 к) Trend

How to calm him down (if he already needs to calm down)? Simple, with an automatic transmission. It's kind of painted on the skin, with its five gears, it's well matched to the torque provided by the turbo diesel, and those who still don't trust electronic intelligence also have the option of manual "sequential" shifting.

Of course, on the other hand, it is true that automatic transmissions often consume a large engine volume. For example, an equally motorized Mondeo with a manual (six-speed) gearbox accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in just over ten seconds, and an automatic one in a good thirteen. After a kilometer of acceleration, it is almost 20 kilometers per hour slower, and the final speed is much lower.

But on the other hand, none of these numbers really matter when you are moving day after day in a city crowd at an average speed of a good 5 miles per hour to work, or better yet, to work.

The rest of the Mondeo is the same as we are used to Mondeo: quite high quality, both in terms of materials and in terms of workmanship, comfortable, with a slightly short movement of the driver's seat (in length) and good ergonomics.

The back of the van, of course, means plenty of luggage space and flexibility, and the Trend label is pretty rich equipment, including great automatic air conditioning. And because the Mondeo is still a Mondeo, the chassis is comfortable enough to handle bumps under the wheels for day-to-day driving, yet firm enough to make cornering fun. Especially since the steering is still precise and gives ample feedback.

Is it worth it or not? True, a Mondeo with an automatic transmission is much slower and much more expensive. But if you're a fan of comfort, then you know that sometimes compromises are necessary.
