France will train workers in the battery industry. The company wants to have three gigafactories of lithium-ion batteries by 2023

Experts in the lithium-ion cell industry are becoming worth their weight in gold. France, together with EIT InnoEnergy, an organization funded by the EU, creates the EBA250 academy. By 2025, it is planned to train 150 employees of the battery industry, the personnel required for the operation of the gigafactory.

France is already starting training, the rest of the continent will be arriving soon

By 2025, Europe should have produced enough lithium-ion cells to power at least 6 million electric vehicles. It is estimated that the continent will need a total of 800 workers from the mining sector, from production and application to disposal of elements. The largest companies in this segment, including Tesla, CATL and LG Energy Solution, are planning or building their factories in the Old Continent:

France alone plans to launch as many as three gigafactories in just two years. They will need skilled workers, and there are simply no such workers in Europe, hence the idea of creating the EBA250 academy, working under the direct patronage of the European Battery Alliance (EBA, source).

The Academy is already starting its work today in France, EIT InnoEnergy also represents it in Spain and plans to expand its activities throughout Europe. Teaching topics include topics related to electric vehicles, energy storage, used cell processing and data analytics. All managers and engineers working in the energy sector are encouraged to register.
