Extreme winter conditions in the north require special experience. This is not a surprise for the Finns from Nokian Tires, the northernmost tire manufacturer, and for the specialists from Arctic Trucks - an Icelandic company specializing in the refinement of 4x4 cars. The two companies often partner in dealing with the harshest winter conditions. The latest result of the partnership between the two expert teams is the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 winter tire.

In severe winter conditions, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 feels at home

In the Arctic climate, it is important to be able to rely on your tires and be sure that your trip will not be interrupted by a flat tire or an impassable route. For example, Arctic Trucks' specialized vehicles are used for polar expeditions, so their tires must meet very high requirements. That's why the new Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 is designed for severe winter. The tire is designed for heavy use in winter conditions, where it feels at home.

The Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 is particularly suitable for Arctic Trucks' special expedition vehicles thanks to its excellent traction and injury resistance. The model weighs about 70 kg and has a diameter of over a meter. Thanks to all this, the tire handles deep snow without any problems.

- The middle part of the tread pattern includes very sharp V-shaped corners, which are optimized to clean the tread grooves from snow and rain. The width of the tread, as well as the maximum air space, ensure that the tire moves efficiently on soft surfaces. Snow is not a problem for Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44, says Kale Kaivonen, R&D manager at Nokian Heavy Tires.

Super traction and precise control in extreme situations

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 handles any terrain with ease. The reinforced arm provides balanced control in unexpected situations, and the reinforcing rib provides a sense of precise control. The special Nokian Tires Polar Expedition tread compound combines first-class traction and durability in extremely cold weather. Optionally, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 can also be equipped with 172 spikes. However, mainly the tire will be used without spikes.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 is the beginning of a new chapter in the cooperation between Arctic experts. The new tire will be available in size LT475 / 70 R17 and is specially designed for heavy SUV 4x4 cars of Arctic Trucks. Production of the Hakkapeliitta 44 will begin in the coming months and will be marketed exclusively by Arctic Trucks.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 44 is a continuation of the history of 2014, when the first product of the cooperation between the two companies was born - Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 AT35 for 4x4 cars. Prior to that, the companies successfully partnered at the marketing level.
