Harley-Davidson unveils its first e-bikes

In preparation for its first electric motorcycle, the renowned American brand is opening the curtain on its upcoming electric motorcycle lineup.

Harley's electrification strategy is not limited to the LiveWire electric motorcycle alone. As announced a year ago, the manufacturer wants to offer a full range of two-wheeled electric vehicles as part of a global strategy to increase sales and diversify its operations. In addition to electric motorcycles and scooters, the famous American brand is also interested in the electric bike segment. After a few sketches, the first images of this new line have just been unveiled at its dealer's annual meeting.

In a visual released by the manufacturer, we see three models - two in a men's frame, one in a women's frame - that appear to be in the hybrid bike segment, halfway between a city bike and an electric mountain bike.

« The first Harley-Davidson electric bikes were light, fast and easy to ride. This all-new line of e-bikes, built to shine in urban environments, is just another example of how Harley-Davidson's More Roads initiative is actively seeking to inspire a new generation of two-wheeled riders around the world. ” explains the company.

Characteristics to be clarified

At the moment, the brand does not provide any information on the specs and specs of this future line of e-bikes. However, the detected visuals suggest the presence of disc brakes and an electric motor built into the crank system in the form of a large block, which may also contain a battery. Designed for adults, these electric bikes will complete the brand's line of electric bicycles for kids a few weeks ago.

Other points to point out are the date these models entered the market, as well as their prices in a market that is especially busy with competition. With no experience in electric bike production, the American brand will have to work twice as hard to advertise its offering and attract customers who are no doubt more accustomed to shopping from traditional bike retailers.
