HDC - Hill Descent Control

The automatic downhill retardation system, which is part of the braking enhancement systems. Facilitates difficult descents and / or slippery surfaces.

Hill Descent Control (HDC) provides a smooth and controlled descent over rough terrain without the need for the driver to press the brake pedal. Just press a button and the car will descend with the ABS braking system to control the speed of each wheel. If the vehicle is accelerating without driver intervention, HDC will automatically apply the brakes to slow the vehicle down.

The cruise control button allows you to adjust the speed to a comfortable level. At the driver's request, pressing the accelerator or brake pedal will override HDC.

With Hill Descent Control, the driver can be confident that even going downhill on rough or slippery terrain will be “soft” and controllable, and will be able to maintain control as long as there is sufficient traction.
